In urban areas the PCW activities will be targeted at high density and peri-urban settlements
The wage rate should be standardized across agencies and government (daily or hourly).
It should be set by the MPSLSW in consultation with development partners
To be revised periodically by Government in line with prevailing market wage rates and inflation
The wage rate is based on time worked
Value of transfers in the form of food or inputs, or a combination of cash and in-kind transfers shall not exceed the value of the agreed programme cash wage
Working hours and days per month
Participants shall work for five (5) hours per day
Beneficiary households shall be engaged for a maximum of fifteen (15) days of employment per month
This is to ensure that women with children have enough time to dedicate to essential home, nutrition and health activities
TImplementing agencies to estimate the amount of work required on a project and the number of households that may participate
Duration of employment
The maximum duration of employment for each participating household is three (3) months in a given year
Where a project life span is more than 3 months, beneficiary households shall be rotated out of the project upon completing three months
Extension to a beneficiary HH may be given in situations where projects are experiencing labour shortages
