Selection of households and participants

  • Equal opportunity to be provided for men and women of all races, religion and political affiliation to participate
  • Participants will be selected through a combination of the following three targeting mechanisms
  • Participants self nominate themselves based on the wage rate set which encourages only those with low income and less employment opportunities
  • Selection can also be through a lottery for transparent purposes
  • Selection process is overseen by the DSSO or other members of the local authority development committee

Members from the community select the most deserving using the following criteria

Households who have suffered from a severe loss of assets (financial, employment, livestock, assets)

Households without adequate family support and other means of social protection support

Avatar

Households that are chronically food insecure

Exclusion criteria::

Women at an advanced state of pregnancy are not permitted to participate in the PCWs

Activities should not detract from the Ministry of Health’s exclusive breastfeeding policies

The minimum participation age is 18 years and the maximum participation age is 60

For those above 60 years other considerations maybe taken into account

Household participation

One participant plus an alternate will be selected per each household but will maintain maximum 15 working days per household
