    Grievances can be handled by either the Project management committee or escalated to Project appeals committee
  • The following is a list of possible complaints
  • Exclusion from participant list despite meeting criteria, or being more needy than others included on participant list
  • Inclusion of community members who do not comply with selection criteria
  • Household rotated off the programme before the end of the three-month period
  • Physical or verbal abuse by officials or other participants

Communities may bring the following grievances directly to the attention of the DSSO or the Project Coordinator on projects funded by development partners


  • Working hours are stretched beyond 5 hours
  • Abuse of non-labour project inputs by PMC members
  • Lack of confidence in the PMC
  • Unfair treatment of women at the project site e.g. sexual harassment of women, etc
  • Women denied breast feeding time by members of the Project Committee
  • Preferential treatment of some members of the project beneficiaries

If no immediate solution is from the DSSO/Project coordinator issue will be referred to the DA, Town Clerk or MPSLSW Head Office
